Peter O. Hilleren, 63, of Benson died Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his lake home in Starbuck, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.

Peter Owen Hilleren was born on November 4, 1958, at Swift County Benson Hospital, the son of Palmer C. and Eileen E. (Haarstad) Hilleren. He was baptized at Lake Hazel Lutheran Church and confirmed at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, MN. He grew up in Benson and attended school at Benson High School where he later graduated. Peter was united in marriage to Kathleen Verhelst on September 28, 1985, in Canby Minnesota.
Peter lived in Benson and worked at Lorenz manufacturing until 1999. He then joined his wife at New Beginnings. He loved his motorcycle and being at the lake with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hilleren of Benson, MN; Children: Alyssa (Nick) Hard, Mariah Hilleren (fiancé Tyler Cline), and Chandler (Madison) Hilleren; Grandchildren: Adalynn Kelly and Sterling Hard; Sister, Linda (Robert) Welz.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer and Eileen Hilleren; Grandparents: Peter and Christine Hilleren and Ole and Agnes Haarstad; And a brother Paul Hilleren.
