Pope County may have seen last case of avian flu

Avian influenza’s infection of poultry in the state continued in October but with just a single case involving 28 birds in a backyard flock in Pope County.
It appears the disease may have run its course for 2022 but not before claiming 3,348,855 turkeys, 303,891 chickens and 1,973 backyard fowl. The last reported case was Oct. 7.
