Sharon Ann Cronen, age 81, of Benson, Minnesota, died Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Scandi Haven Village in Benson. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Sharon Ann Cronen was born May 25, 1943, in Benson, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl (Davidson) Amundson. She was baptized at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. Sharon grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1961.
January 5, 1963, Sharon was united in marriage to William (Bill) Cronen. They made their home in Benson and raised two daughters Cindy and Cheri. Sharon worked in the Swift County Treasurer’s Office for many years and then worked for Benson Public Schools until her retirement.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, and spending time at the lake. She also loved being with family and friends. Sharon was her grandkids No. 1 fan at their sporting events.
Sharon is survived by her daughters Cindy: (Chad) Connelly of Benson, and Cheri (James) Hughes of Montevideo, MN; two grandchildren: Layton Connelly and Marissa (fiancé Adam Zosel) Connelly; siblings: Virgil Amundson of Starbuck, MN, Dave Amundson of Atwater, MN, and Linda (Bob) Zielsdorf of Benson; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Bill Cronen, parents Art and Pearl Amundson, sister-in-law Fay Amundson, and nephew Kent Amundson.
Mom, we will miss you dearly, but we know that you are united in heaven with Dad.
