Mary Teresa Lucking

Mary Teresa Lucking was born on the farm in Clontarf Township, Swift, County, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonedous T. and Ellen V. (McGraw) Goulet. She was baptized on October 28, 1917 at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Clontarf by Father Henry. She grew up in Clontarf and attended country school through the eighth grade then graduated from Benson Senior High School. She worked in Washington D.C., hand painting photographs and at the Benson Creamery.

Frances Louise Maanum

Frances Louise Maanum was born May 8, 1921 at New York Mills, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter E. and Hazel Marie (Crabb) Johnson.  She was baptized October 18, 1921 and confirmed in the Christian Faith.  Frances grew up and attended school and graduated from New York Mills High School.  In 1942 she moved to Benson, MN where she worked as a book keeper at Farmers Union Insurance and Oil Company in Benson for several years.

Doris F. Wiebold was born March 7, 1938, the daughter of Edward and Myrtis (Hals) Johnson in Sunburg, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and Our Savior’s Lutheran in Benson.  She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1956.

Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. on, Friday, November 1, 2019, and will continue from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on November 2, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Benson.

Betty Raasch

Betty Raasch, 93, of Cyrus, Minnesota and formerly of Glenwood, died Thursday, October 24, 2019, at home surrounded by family.

A memorial service celebrating her life was held Monday, October 28, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Pastor Chris Richards officiated. Inurnment was in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Glenwood.

Betty Louise Jones was born in Jackson, Minnesota, March 30, 1926, to George A. and Tillie (Weigold) Jones. She attended school in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1944.

Dale Geske

Dale Geske, age 74, of Swift Falls, died Wednesday, October 23rd in his home.  Visitation will be held Sunday, October 27th from 4-6 p.m. at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.  Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., Monday, October 28th at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls.  Pastor Mike Soppeland will officiate.  Burial will be in the Lynd Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

Michaela Renae Sexton

Michaela Renae Sexton, 25, of Benson, Minnesota, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson.  Visitation continued from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery. 

Michaela Renae Sexton was born August 26, 1994, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.  She was born to her mother, Debbie M. Slaughter and her father, Shane A. Sexton. 

Michaela lived most of her life in Benson after she returned from Oregon when she was two.  She grew up in Benson, attending public school and graduating in 2012.  She worked a variety of jobs, with her last job being the most fulfilling.  She worked at the Heartland Girls Ranch in Benson as a Youth Counselor.

Kathleen “Kathy” Hemmah, age 65, of Hutchinson, MN, died Wednesday, October 23rd in Golden Living Center in Benson, MN.  Visitation will be held 10–11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Monday, October 28th at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf, MN. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
