Bernice Wanberg, 101, of Benson, Minnesota died Friday morning, May 24, 2019 at the Meadow lane Nursing Home in Benson.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Pauli Cemetery.

Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is in charge of the arrangements.

Marlys Elizabeth Alsaker Tengvall passed away peacefully April 19, 2019, in Minnetonka, Minnesota.  Funeral services will be at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11a.m. Brief burial and luncheon to follow.

Marlys Elizabeth Alsaker Tengvall was born to Carl and Cora Alsaker June 5, 1923, in Benson, Minnesota.  She was confirmed by the Rev. Melvin Andrews at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in 1938, and graduated from Benson High School in 1941.

She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield for one year and from 1943 to 1949 worked at the University of MN, Morris Campus as an extension department secretary.
From 1950-51 she returned to St. Olaf College and roomed with her sister Solveig.  Marlys then enrolled and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1953.

Elaine Hope (Nelson) Becker entered Heaven to be with her Lord,  May 18, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. May 25, 2019 at the Community Country Church in Holdingford, Minnesota. Reviewal will be at the church one hour before the service, and visitation, with lunch, following the service. Burial will be in the City Cemetery in Benson.

Fredrick Michael “Fred” Wrobleski, 80, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota died Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at The View.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 9-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Donald Anthony Wilts, 85, Benson, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at his home.  Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson.  Visitation continued from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.  

Donald Anthony Wilts was born October 16, 1933 in Murdock, Minnesota, the son of Anthony Frederick and Ethel Louise (Lundberg) Wilts.  He was baptized August 5, 1934 at Clara City Reformed Church by Rev. Wildryer and was confirmed July 18, 1948 at Drywood Lutheran Church by Rev. William F. Peterson.  Don grew up in rural Appleton-Hegbert Township, Swift County, Minnesota and graduated from Appleton High School.

John James “Jim” O’Connor, 87, of Benson, Minnesota, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019, in St. Cloud.  Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson.  Visitation continued from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Francis Catholic Church.  Interment was in the church cemetery. 

John James “Jim” O’Connor was born November 7, 1931, in Benson, the son of John and Ethel (McQuaid) O’Connor. He grew up and attended grade school in Benson. He graduated from Benson Senior High School.  He served in the United States Army from May 28, 1953 to May 27, 1955.

Robert Petersen, 93, of Glenwood, Minnesota died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Glenwood Retirement Village.

Robert was born May 22, 1925 in Montevideo, the son of Ludvig and Margarethe Petersen. He was baptized at home. The family later moved to Benson where Robert grew up and attended school. He later served his country during WWII in the United States Navy where he earned his GED while in the service. After his service, he attended trade school and then became a machinist.

Kenneth R. Wrobleski, “Kenny Ray”, 64, of Benson, Minnesota died  Monday evening, May 13, 2019, at his home near Benson. Visitation was held Friday May 17, 2019 at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Private interment was held at the Benson City Cemetery.

Kenneth Raymond “Kenny Ray” Wrobleski, 64, was born August 22, 1954, in Benson, Minnesota the son of Frank and Loretta (Kedrowski). He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson Senior High School. He worked for Roger Olson Construction, Lor-al, CNH, and Hancock Concrete.  

February 7, 1997, Kenny was united in marriage to Linda Kay (Prekker Mathis) in Milbank, South Dakota.  They were blessed with 22 years of marriage. Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing softball. He loved old cars and his 1966 Chevy panel was his “Baby”.

Mary K. Matthews, 90, of Willmar, Minnesota passed away peacefully at her home May 11, 2019.

There was a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock, Minnesota, Monday, May 20, 2019 with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Private internment was at the Sacred Heart cemetery in Murdock.   In lieu of flowers, memorials were preferred to the American Cancer Society, Willmar hospice, or donor’s choice.
