Jeffrey “Jeff” Lawrence Malinowski, 59, of Benson, Minnesota  died Sunday, September 29, 2019, in his home.  Visitation was  from 9:30-11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2019, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson.

Arrangements were with Zniewski Funeral Home.

Tammy G. (Mrs. Jeff) Weber, 58, of Watertown, SD, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the hospital in Sioux Falls, SD after battling kidney disease for 30 plus years.

Memorial services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Pastor Luke Smith officiated. The family met at the church 10:30 a.m. Monday for a family prayer service.

Visitation was at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and also prior to the service at the church Monday. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Linda Samuelson, Theresa Kenyon and Marie Weber. Active pallbearers were Tammy’s grandchildren: Devon Isler, Jayda Weber, Jenna Weber, Rihanna Marzolf and Jaelynn Weber.

Clarence Carl Donnie Lansverk, Jr., 54, of Sunburg, Minnesota, died Friday, September 20, 2019, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, following a brief battle with cancer.

Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Monday, September 30, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg.  Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, at Hope Lutheran Church. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service.  Interment was at Spring Creek Lutheran Cemetery near Sunburg.

Dawn F. (Mrs. Rick) Meyer, 43, of Watertown, SD, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, as a result of an automobile accident in Watertown, SD.

A Celebration of Life will be from 5-8 p.m., with a supper at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at City Hope Church, 413 Franklin Ave. NE in St. Cloud, Minnesota 56304. Please bring a memory to share.

Dawn Florina Meyer, daughter of Jerome and Beth (Benzing) Schlangen was born August 23, 1976 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota.  She grew up in rural Willmar, Appleton and Benson. While living in Benson, Dawn worked at Perkins, Hardees and Country Inn & Suites.  Dawn graduated from Benson Christian School in 1994.

July 11, 2010 she married Richard "Rick" Meyer in Watertown, SD.  Dawn was employed in customer service at Hy-Vee, The Other Place Cafe and Hardees.  She was currently employed at Sparton, Inc.

Dawn F.  Meyer, 43, (daughter of Jerome and Beth Schlangen) formerly of Benson, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, as a result of an automobile accident in Watertown, SD.

Visitation was from 2-4 p.m., with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m.  Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD. Rev. Elmer Brinkman officiated.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Minnesota.

Ralph Hoffman, 81, of Appleton, Minnesota (formerly of rural Danvers) died Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Appleton Area Health Services - Care Center.  Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holloway.  Pastor Donald Klatt officiated.  Burial was in the Appleton City Cemetery.

 
Ralph Raymond Hoffman was born February 15, 1938, in Tara Township, Swift County, Minnesota to parents, Verner and Alvina (Giese) Hoffman.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township.  Ralph was raised near Danvers and attended school at District #50 through the eighth  grade.  He then attended Holloway High school, graduating in 1956.

Edith Elizabeth Dolan (Betty) was born April 2, 1924, and passed away peacefully Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was a resident of St. Therese of New Hope.

Reviewal was at Gill Brothers Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South, Mpls.,  Monday, September 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers, Tuesday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Interment was in the Church of the Visitation Cemetery.

Betty Dolan was born in Benson, Minnesota and grew up on a farm near Danvers. She graduated from Benson High School in 1941 and St. Catherine’s University in 1945 with a major in chemistry and library science. Betty worked at 3M for more than 40 years, retiring in 1988. Betty had many interests: travel, reading, bridge, golf and gardening.

Mildred “Millie” Collins, 99, of Benson, Minnesota, died Friday, September 6 in Meadow Lane Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Benson.  Visitation was held noon-1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14 at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.  Pastor Donald Berheim  officiated.  Burial will be at a later date in Saint Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, North Dakota. 

Mildred Emma Collins was born July 31, 1920 in Grafton, North Dakota, the daughter of Albert Louis Joseph Pariseau and Marte “Myrtle” Sophia Johnson.  She was raised in the St. Thomas area, graduating from St. Thomas High School, Class of 1938.

September 5, 1939, Mildred was united in marriage to Raynold Clifford Collins.  This union was blessed with three children: Clifford, Peggy, and Deborah.

Harriet Hanson, 89, of Benson, Minnesota, died Wednesday morning, September 11, 2019 at the Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation was held at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, from 5-7 p.m.  Friday, September 13  and continued from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Benson. Interment was in Lake Hazel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Harriet Hanson was born in Perth, North Dakota, May 13, 1930, the daughter of Ben and Helga Grann. She grew up in North Dakota, attended Perth grade school and graduated from Perth High School. She earned her teaching Degree at Minot Teacher’s College in Minot, North Dakota. After college, she lived and taught school in BelCourt, North Dakota, Forest Lake, Minnesota, and taught at Southside Elementary School in Benson.

Wanda Mae (Wolla) Larson

Wanda Mae Larson, 87,  passed away September 4, 2019 after a brave battle with breast cancer.

A celebration of life service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Eugene,  Saturday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m.

She was born October 10, 1931 to Arnold and Clara Wolla in Benson, Minnesota. Wanda graduated from Benson High School and received an associate’s degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She married Rev. Dr. David Frans Larson, May 31, 1952.

Wanda and David were married for 67 years and raised five children. She worked as a homemaker and then as a medical secretary before retiring. She was known for her wide array of Scandinavian Christmas cookies and sweets, and her cookbooks are filled with dessert recipes cut from newspapers from the many communities across the country where they lived.
