Mark D. Welling, 54, of Montevideo, Minnesota, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2019, at the Alomere Health Services in Alexandria.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday April 22, at the Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  Burial was in Swenoda-Mandt Cemetery, Swenoda Township.  

Mark Douglas Welling was born October 23, 1964 to Vincent and Dianne (Bjornstad) Welling in Marshall, Minnesota.  He was baptized in November, 1964 at First English Lutheran Church in Marshall.  He confirmed his faith at Big Bend Lutheran Church in May, 1980.  

Mark was raised in the Big Bend/Milan area, graduating from Milan High School, Class of 1983.  After high school, he attended Willmar AVTI, where he graduated with a degree in Ag Business.

Adeline Frances Weberg-Landmark-Kahout, passed away in her sleep at 7:30 a.m., Palm Sunday at the age of 87.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at West Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, 29050 357th Ave, Hancock, Minnesota.

She's preceded in death by her parents August & Marie (Knutson) Weberg; her older sisters: Irene, Pearl, Violet; and brother, Carroll; son,Carroll Landmark, spring of 2011, who had changed their name to Mykal Mitchell. She was the widow of David Sander Landmark from spring of 1976 and also the widow of Stanley Benedict Kahout from Autumn of 2007. Sisters-in-law: Angie, Lil Molitor & Ann Horejsi; brothers-in-law, Joe, Mike, Milo, Ben, Edward, & Bill, as well as some Knutson cousins.

LOIS FLANDERS

Lois Flanders, 97, of Heartland Eventide in Devils Lake, ND, and formerly of Langdon and Calvin, ND, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, at CHI Hospital in Devils Lake.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m.  Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Langdon Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sue Mackey officiating. Visitation took place one hour before service time at the church. Burial will be in the spring at Corinthian Cemetery near Calvin, ND.

Lois Orpha was born April 26, 1921, the daughter of Claude and Lena (Whitmore) Gage. She was born at the family farm in Grey Township east of Calvin, ND. She attended school at Grey School through her high school years.

Lois was united in marriage to Donald Leslie Flanders, June 29, 1940. They made their home on the family farm east of Calvin.

Kurt Lynn Benoit was born April 3, 1965, in Joliet, Illinois and he passed away unexpectedly March 26, 2019, at Parkview Manor from complications of diabetes. He served for six years in the United States Navy. He is survived by his mother Lois (Donald) VanderWeyst; brothers, Michael (Shari) and Douglas; a sister Susan; nieces and nephews; four aunts and many cousins. Burial will be in the Peotone Cemetery, Peotone, Illinois. The Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Lorraine Schwartz, 74, of Benson, Minnesota (formerly of Clarkfield) passed away with her family by her side Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Gabriel House in Murdock.

Funeral services were Monday, April 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  Pastor Zane Anderson officiated and burial was in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Boyd.  Visitation with the family was held Monday one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Lorraine Ellen Schwartz was born  December 6, 1944 in Clarkfield to Ted and Helen (Zietlow) Pieschke. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Tyro Township.  She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1962.

Duane J. Talge, a long-time citizen of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his adopted winter home of Carlsbad, CA, April 11, 2019, concluding a stoic, decades-long fight with heart disease.

A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with remembrances at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Wright Funeral Home, 605 2nd Avenue South Moorhead. Duane’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4000 28th Street South Moorhead (with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and a reception to follow). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Moorhead Athletic Spud Boosters, Concordia College Cobber Football, or Good Shepherd Helping Hands.

Billie L. Jenner-Wright, 93, formerly of Antler, ND passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, Minnesota.

A private family memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 13 at the Brose Funeral Home in Mohall, ND with burial to follow at the Antler Cemetery. The family requests any memorials go to The Salvation Army, The American Red Cross or The American Heart Association.

Billie was born Oct. 12, 1925 on the family farm near Maxbass, ND, the youngest of three daughters born to George and Dorothy Hanson. She married Willard Jenner of Antler in August 1946 until his passing in Nov. 1974. They had one son, Craig Jenner. Billie was later re-married to Delbert Wright of Antler from 1989 until his passing in June 2011.

Billie was most recently a resident at The Legacy Assisted Living Center in Morris.

A Celebration of the life of Janice (Reuss) Poverud will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at  the Word Fellowship Church, 132 W Sorenson, Appleton, Minnesota.

Janice Jane Reuss was born June 23, 1938 in Holloway, Minnesota to Lester and Lucille Reuss.  She graduated from high school in Holloway. She married Vernon Poverud July 14, 1956. They made their home several places in Minnesota and North Dakota before retiring in Fairmount, ND. While living in Danvers, Janice worked as a cook at the elementary school where her children attended. Janice and Vern moved the family to  Sauk Centre, where she worked at the  Minnesota Home School.

DuWayne A. Forbord, 67, of Rochester, Minnesota died peacefully March 24, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Monson officiating. Visitation took place from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Inurnment was at Oakwood East Cemetery.

DuWayne Allen Forbord was born June 13, 1951 to Olaf and Esther (Stroebel) Forbord in Benson. He graduated from Benson High School in 1969. In 1973 he graduated from the University of MN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Gwen Elizabeth Thayer, 34, of Kerkhoven, Minnesota passed into the loving arms of Jesus, March 23, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with three different cancers over the past 29 years.  

Her funeral service was 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 30 at Living Hope-Evangelical Free Church in Willmar.  Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Kerkhoven.  Visitation was from 5-8:00 p.m.  Friday at Living Hope-Evangelical Free Church in Willmar and continued one hour prior to the service at the church  Saturday.
