Nancy Kay Emmert, 55, of Dawson, Minnesota died Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, South Dakota.  Visitation was held Wednesday, December 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson and continued from 10-11 a.m.  Thursday at the church. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 20, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson.

Nancy Kay Emmert was born June 12, 1963, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Roberta Wrobleski. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church. She grew up in Benson and attended Benson schools.

December 31, 2009, Nancy was united in marriage to Robert Emmert. She worked as a bartender at the Goose Bar in Watson and for the Clontarf Pub. She worked as a CNA at the Nursing Home in Morris and also at Jenni-O Foods in Montevideo.

Joshua Ahrndt, 28, son, brother, uncle, grandchild, nephew, and friend to many passed away suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018.

A funeral service in memory of Joshua will be held at the St Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Minnesota, 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 19 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

A memorial service will be held in Castle Rock, CO at a later date to be determined.

Joshua will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Kim & Alonah, brother Brandon, nephew Jayse and his dog Lily.   Joshua will also be fondly remembered by his grandparents, great grandmother, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

This witty "tell it like it is," lover of the land was born on a farm just east of De Graff, Minnesota, February 15, 1934.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018 at Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel, 1884 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul with Visitation at 10:00 a.m preceding Mass. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights

ROGER FRAGODT, 66, of Cottonwood, formerly of Benson, Minnesota, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at his home in Cottonwood.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.  A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will then continue one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m.,  Thursday at the church in Cottonwood. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Swan Lake Evangelical Free Church in Cottonwood.  Interment will follow in the Cottonwood City Cemetery.

Roger Michael Fragodt was born May 12, 1952, in Benson.  He was the son of Ralph and Doris (Heimdahl) Fragodt.  Roger was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Benson.  After graduating high school in 1970, he continued his education at the Technical College in Granite Falls, Minnesota.  While going to school there, he met Ms. Jean Hirmer.

DAVID GLENN ODDEN, 65, of Starbuck, Minnesota died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at home under Hospice care. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.  Visitation will continue from 12-1 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at Kerkhoven Evangelical Free Church. Private family Interment will be in Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

David Glenn Odden was born September 21, 1953, in Benson, Minnesota, to Richard and Martha Ahlschwede Odden.  Dave obtained his private pilot’s license before graduating from Benson High School in 1971.  Following high school, Dave attended Kundert Aviation in Fargo, ND, where he received his aircraft and power-plant mechanic licenses and continued his flying lessons.

Donald Roen, 79, also known as “Smiling Don”, a Douglas, ND area farmer and rancher, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at his home, surrounded by those that love him.

A visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 4-7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Interment was in the Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Donald LeRoy Roen was born June 14, 1939, the son of Oscar and Agnes (Olson) Roen, on the family farm north of Douglas, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended the country school. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of Minot in 1955 and graduated from Minot High School in 1957.

Visitation was from 1:30-3 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 3 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson.  Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery at a later date.

Roger David Ahrndt was born January 28, 1935, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of John F. and Clara T. (Antolick) Ahrndt. He attended Country School in Cashel Township and graduated from Benson High School, Class of 1952.

Welker, 91, of Willmar, Minnesota died Friday, November 3, 2018 at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.  Her funeral was held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10 at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  

Marie Jane Welker was born July 12, 1927, in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Thiedeman and Hattie (Nordby) Barduson.  She grew up in the Appleton area, where she graduated from Appleton High School with the Class of 1945.
