Jeanette E. Hawkinson, 98, of Benson, Minn. died Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Southview Manor.  A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church with Interment in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home.

Daniel David DeToy

Daniel David DeToy, 70 of Sun City, Arizona passed away  Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

Daniel was born May 17, 1950 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Thomas and Freda (Kaduce) DeToy. Dan grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and spent one of his three years of active duty in Vietnam. After returning home, he married the love of his life Gail Louise Borstad,  February 4, 1974 in Madison. They raised two sons, Boe and Jay.

Throughout Dan’s life, he enjoyed running his businesses in Madison, Hermantown and Benson with his wife by his side. He shared his love of cooking with his boys and they helped him at DeToy’s Family Restaurant in Benson.

Dan had a passion for golf and spent many hours on the course with his wife and friends, both in Minnesota and Arizona. They also enjoyed playing cards and socializing with their friends. He had a great pride for his country and loved talking politics.

Clarine Bernice (Lundebrek) Geno

Clarine Bernice (Lundebrek) Geno, 88, of Freeland, Washington, died peacefully September 11, 2020 in her apartment with her daughter Beverly at her side. Interment will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery alongside her husband Paul. Due to Covid19, a memorial service will be announced later on for next summer.

Clarine was born November 2, 1931, to Clara Gulbranson & Adolph Lundebrek in Starbuck Village, Minnesota.

After graduating from Benson High School in 1950, Clarine was awarded the first recipient of the “Swift County Hospital Nursing Scholarship”.  Clarine went on to study nursing and graduated from Ancker Nursing School in St Paul.

She met and married Paul Geno in Seattle, they wed in 1959. The union produced four children: Bev, Colleen, Dede, and Shannon.

Paul D. Kittelson, 83, of Benson, Minnesota, died Saturday morning, January 11, 2020 at Swift County Benson Health Services.

A funeral service for family and interment will be held Saturday, October 10th at West Lake Johanna Cemetery. 

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 2 pm in Roosevelt Park by the Court House in Benson.

LuJean Carol (Eichner) Iversen, 73, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota  passed away August 29, 2020.  

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m.,  Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55346, with a visitation starting at 10 a.m.  Interment ILC Columbarium.  In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations instead to her grandkids’ college fund in the care of Anthony Iversen, 5220 Nolan Dr., Minnetonka, Minnesota 55343.

Anna Offerdahl, age 95, of Benson, Minnesota passed April 16, 2020 at Meadow Lane Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.  Services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church and interment was in Six Mile Grove Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m.

George F. Hennessy

George F. Hennessy, 86, left his earthly life Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at his home in Melbourne, Florida.  

A Funeral service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, September 19, 11 a.m at the Benson City Cemetery,  

George was born April 17, 1934 in Danvers, Minnesota. He came from a large farming family with six sisters (five of his sisters, Lenore, Beverly, Marian, Susan and Norma Jean have all gone to eternal rest).
