There are substantial changes underway at the Benson City Hall as decades of knowledge of city operations has left or will soon be gone.

To prepare itself for the challenges ahead, city staff and members of the Benson City Council met for a planning and strategy session this past weekend facilitated by Marcy Douglas. She is a leadership development and strategic planning manager with Missouri River Energy Services.

Council members and staff met from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. last Friday evening, and from 7:30 to after 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

As 2022 ended, Mayor and former Council Member Terri Collins retired, and veteran Council Member Lucas Olson lost his reelection bid.
