Would chimes entertain or annoy city’s residents?

It was just six months ago that the new clocks in the Swift County courthouse were celebrated and those who had worked to get them installed recognized for their efforts.

Now the group is looking into getting chimes installed in the clock tower. While there was broad support for the new clocks, chimes may not get the same level of support. Seeking the support of the people who live around the courthouse will be crucial to winning their approval from the Swift County Board of Commissioners.

Pete Iversen, representing the group researching the installation of chimes, presented its initial plans to the county board at its meeting Feb. 7.  Other members of the committee are Dee Dee Stelzig, the Rev. Gary Mills, Wayne Dokken, Jim Hilleren, and Rolph Gomer.
