Youth Conservation Corps at Wetland Management District seeks applicants

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be hosting a Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Camp this summer at the Morris Wetland Management District.  
The YCC Program is a summer employment program for young males and females, 15 through 18 years of age, from all segments of society, who work, learn and earn together by doing projects on public lands.  The purpose of the program is to further the development and maintenance of the natural resources of the United States by America’s youth and, in so doing, to prepare them for the ultimate responsibility of maintaining and managing these resources for the American people.  
Applications for this program are currently available at the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters and Benson, Chokio-Alberta, Hancock, Morris, West Central and Minnewaska Senior High Schools.  
All applications must be received at the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters by 3 p.m., Friday, May 3.  The 2013 YCC Camp will run for eight weeks, from June 3 through July 26.  All applicants must have a valid social security number and be at least 15 years of age by June 3 and no older than 18 years of age by July 26.  
Also, all YCC enrollees are required to have their federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.  
The Morris Wetland Management District YCC Camp will be non-residential (youths will live at home) and provide jobs for four local youth, two girls and two boys.  Enrollees will be paid $7.25 per hour (Federal Minimum Wage Rate) for 40 hours each week.  
Enrollees are expected to be available to work the entire eight week period and will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the Morris Wetland Management District Headquarters.  
Participants will be selected through a random drawing process.
