Track teams both second at BOLD Invitational

The Benson-KMS track and field teams competed at the BOLD Invitational, Thursday night, and both teams came within a few points of earning team titles during the four-team meet.
BOLD-BLHS won both team titles by a half point over Benson-KMS and Montevideo in the boys competition, and by three points over Benson-KMS in the girls meet.
Makenna Kelley won the girls 100 meter hurdles, while Izzy Wirth won the 400 meter dash, Beth Feder won the 3200 meter run, Benson-KMS won the girls 800, 1600, and 3200 meter relays, Abe Peterson won the boys 400 meter dash, Landon Thompson won the 800....

Boys tennis team routs NLS, 6-1, for second win

The Benson-KMS boys tennis team improved to 2-0 for the season with a 6-1 home win over New London-Spicer, Thursday afternoon.
The Fighting Braves, coached by Coleton Anderson, swept the three doubles’ matches and also won at first through third singles against the Wildcats.
Benson-KMS was also scheduled to play at Osakis, Friday, but that match was postponed to a later date due to weather.
This week, the Braves were set to host LQP-DB, Tuesday (yesterday), host Montevideo, Friday, and play at Moorhead, Saturday.

Benson softball team sweeps Minnewaska

The Benson softball team swept a doubleheader at Minnewaska Area last week, 7-2 and 12-2.  The Braves, who improved to 2-1 for the season, belted out 24 hits during the twinbill with Ellie Moesenthin going 5-for-8 with three doubles and four runs scored, Bella Wolter and Zoe Doscher adding three hits each, and Wolter also picking up both wins on the mound.
Benson took control early in both games, leading 4-0 after two innings in the first game and 7-1 after three innings of the nightcap....

KMS baseball team improves to 4-0 overall

The KMS baseball team outscored its three opponents 38-3 last week on the way to winning three games and improving to 4-0 for the season.  The Saints beat Tracy Area last Tuesday (10-0) and then topped Lakeview, Thursday (15-1) Monday, Friday (23-2).
Isaac Rudningen went 3-for-3 during the win over Tracy, while Brody Forsell was 2-for-3 with a grandslam homerun and eight RBI during the victory over Lakeview, and Alex Call and Forsell both had six RBI during the win over Montevideo, a game in which Devon Swanson also had a two-run homer.
The pace of the schedule doesn’t slow down this week as KMS was set to play at RCW, Monday, at Canby, Tuesday (yesterday) and at home against Lac qui Parle, Thursday (tomorrow)....
