Braves handle Hancock with ease, 20-2

The Benson Braves went 1-2 last week, losing a pair of tough games at Morris Area to open up the week last Tuesday night, 1-0 and 6-3, but coming back to rout Hancock in a rare night game, Friday in Benson, 20-2. The 20 runs against Hancock was the most runs scored by the Braves’ baseball team in 16 years (see Speaking of Sports).
Benson, now 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the WCC, was set to play at Lakeview, Tuesday (yesterday) before hosting Minnewaska Area for a doubleheader, Thursday.
“A big thank you goes out to everyone who came out and supported Benson baseball,” Benson coach Adam Foslien said. “It was perfect weather and exciting experience for the players. It was one of the biggest crowds I’ve seen at a baseball game in Benson for a long time.”
