Court redistricting map moves Swift County into new House, Senate district

Lead Summary

With redistricting of Minnesota’s legislative districts based on the 2020 U.S. Census, Swift County has lost both state District 17 Sen. Andrew Lang and state District 17 A Rep. Tim Miller.
Lang’s home in Olivia in Renville County and Miller’s in Kandiyohi County were both placed in new legislative districts by a special five-judge panel appointed by state Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Gildea. The panel released its maps after Legislature failed to act by the Feb. 15 deadline mandated by state law.
