U.S. Sen. Klobuchar hears from local sugar beet growers

While many might think the cost of tariffs is too high and damaging the U.S. economy, there is a group that told U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar last Saturday that they aren’t high enough.
The tariff on foreign sugar coming into America is not high enough to create a price that is profitable for domestic sugar production, sugar beet growers and representatives of the Southern Minnesota Sugar Beet Cooperative told Klobuchar gathered at the Pat and Donita Ascheman farm in western Swift County Saturday.
