Wolfington leaving post after 25 years in May

After 25 years as Benson’s city manager, Rob Wolfington submitted his letter of resignation to the city council Monday night.
“After 47 years of public services, including 25 years as your city manager, I have decided that it is time for me to retire,” Wolfington’s resignation letter to the council stated. “I plan to continue in my capacity as city manager for the next six months before officially retiring on May 15, 2022.”
Earlier this month, the council named Director of Finance Glen Pederson the interim city manager due to Wolfington take time off for medical leave.
The council’s personnel committee met Monday night following the council’s regular meeting to discuss the process for eventually filling his position once he retires.
