KMS edges Benson in 5A quarterfinal preview

The Benson wrestling team went 2-2 last week to give the Braves a 13-12 record with one week of the regular-season to go. The Braves hosted two triangulars last week, beating Quad County (55-18) and losing to KMS (38-30) in a triangular at home last Tuesday, and then defeating Canby (42-30) and losing to Morris Area/Hancock/CA (48-34) in another home triangular, Saturday.
The Braves have an even busier week scheduled this week. Benson was set to compete at Ortonville, Thursday (tomorrow) before hosting a triangular with Border West and Crosby-Ironton in the East Gym in Benson, Friday, and hosting United and Albany in another home triangular, Saturday in the main gym.
The start of the Section 5A Team Tourney is set for Wednesday, March 10 and right now, it appears Benson and KMS will square off in the quarterfinals at Long Prairie that night with the winner moving on to face top-seeded LPGE-Browerville...
