Richard Lee Teske

Richard Lee Teske, 71, of Benson, Minnesota died at his home in Benson on Sunday evening, July 4, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, July 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Benson City Cemetery.

Richard Lee Teske was born on December 15, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Willard Rudolph and Ruth Eve (Block) Teske. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. He grew up in Appleton, Minnesota, attended school there and also attended Canby Vo-Tech. Richard served his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was wounded.  He was in the National Guard for over 30 years.

Bradley D. Showalter

Bradley Showalter, 65, of rural Danvers, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021, in his home.  Memorial services were held Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.  Pastor Zane Anderson was the officiant.  Burial will be in Nesbitt Red Butte Cemetery near Hazen, North Dakota.

Bradley Dean Showalter was born June 26, 1956 in Winton, Minnesota, son of John and Ione (Swensrud) Showalter. Bradley graduated from Virginia High School in 1974, continuing his education at Hibbing Vocational Tech Institute. After leaving school he worked at many restaurants early on and owned the Clover Leaf in Benson. The last 15 years of his life, he worked for Wanzek Construction in Fargo in the wind tower division. November 27, 2019, Bradley was united in marriage to Linda Devillers in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Orlyn G. Hamborg

Orlyn G. Hamborg, age 92, of Sunburg, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 26, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, at the Sunburg Free Lutheran Church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at the family’s home (9111 225th Ave NW, Sunburg, MN  56289) and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lois A. Hughes

Lois A. Hughes, 85, of Paynesville, formerly of Benson, died Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Koronis Manor in Paynesville.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (today), June 30, 2021 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.  Committal service will be 1:30 p.m. at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in DeGraff.  

Lois Ann Hughes was born November 3, 1935 in DeGraff, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (McQuaid) Fath.  She grew up on the family farm near DeGraff and attended country grade school in DeGraff and high school in Graceville.

Bradley Forbord

Bradley K. Forbord, died Tuesday morning, June 15, 2021 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.

A Visitation will be held  Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.

Bradley K. Forboard was born March 19, 1952, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Evelyn Olson Forbord. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson Senior High School in 1970. After high school, he worked for the railroad for a time. In the early 1980’s, he worked in the oil fields of Wyoming, then returned to De Graff, Minnesota.

Brad enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and swimming. He loved the Minnesota Vikings and listening to the Beatles. He was called from this life Tuesday morning, June 15, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. He attained the age of 69 years, two months, and 27 days.

Jason James Waldowski, 48, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, passed away unexpectantly June 15, 2021.

Visitation was June 28, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thurston Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka, Minnesota.  Funeral Services were held June 29, 2021 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka, Minnesota.  Memorials are preferred to the District 10 Hockey Association.

Debra Kill, 63, of Big Lake, Minnesota was born November 25, 1956 and passed away November 21, 2020.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 at the St. Francis Catholic Church from 12:00-3:00. A gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the cemetery.

Dean L. Schmidgall

Dean Loren Schmidgall, who was born November 14, 1963, passed from this life June 14, 2021, at the age of 57 years, seven months. Dean was the eighth child of 14 children born to Howard and Donna (Dosdall) Schmidgall.  He grew up in Hancock, Minnesota, where he attended school and graduated from Hancock High School in 1982.

Dean served in the army national guard for 17 years attaining the rank of staff sergeant, serving two tours of duty in Iraq as a combat medic. Upon return to the states, he worked in a military hospital in Washington state.

Besides Minnesota, Dean had lived in Illinois, Missouri, and most recently in California.  Dean worked as a nurse with elderly patients in a nursing home setting for more than 10 years, and worked for a period of time as a personal care attendant.

Donna Marie Force

Donna (Marie) Force, 93, of Benson, Minnesota died  Saturday night, June 12, 2021, at Scandi Haven Village under hospice care.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 with a 10:00 a.m. visitation followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Lunch will be served afterwards at the Pilgrim Congregational Church.

Donna was born September 25, 1927 in Willmar, Minnesota to William A. and Frances E. (Berglund) Nelson. She was baptized at the First Methodist Church in Willmar, and spent the next 18 years of her life as a member of that same church. She graduated from Willmar High School with the class of 1945. For 30 months, she waited for her Marine to return from WWII.

June 15, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Burle Force. They were fortunate to spend over 64 years of marriage together. Burle passed away August 19, 2010.
