B/KMS continues great start with win at Winterfest Invitational

After cracking the top-10 ranking in Class A, the Benson/KMS gymnastics team performed like a ranked team at the Winterfest Invitational in Marshall Jan. 4. The team earned another invitational win as a team, two full points clear of the second place team.
Benson/KMS won the Winterfest Invitational with 137.15 team points. Luverne was the next closest team, finishing second with 135.15.
On the vault, Gwen Wilcox led Benson/KMS in second place with a score of 9.0. Mya McGeary was not far behind in fourth with a score of 8.85. Jada O’Leary placed sixth with 8.775 and Lexi Hoberg came in eighth with 8.750.
Hoberg paced Benson/KMS on the uneven bars by placing third with a score of 8.350, just in front of teammate O’Leary who was fourth with 8.2. Wilcox was sixth with 8.15 and Mia Post came in ninth with 7.95.
On the beam, Carly Tolifson had the best score for Benson/KMS, finishing fourth with a score of 8.3. Wilcox came in seventh with 8.025 and O’Leary finished 12th with 7.725.
