Charles Frances Walsh, 68, of DeGraff, Minnesota died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home.
His visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org
Charles Frances Walsh was born October 4, 1952, to Walter and Catherine (McCann) Walsh in Benson. He was baptized and later confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Chuck attended Murdock High School and graduated in 1971. He furthered his education at Rosemount Technical College where he took classes to become a lineman. He worked as a lineman briefly before starting a new career in construction.
July 15, 1977, Chuck was united in marriage to Kendra LeRoux at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They moved to Chuck’s family farm south of DeGraff where they made their home. In 1979, Chuck started farming with his father, Walter, and his brother Tom, and later farmed with his son, Dustin. He loved spending time with Dustin and also passing down his knowledge and work ethic. Chuck also loved to travel and ride his motorcycle and spend time with family and friends at the lake cabin on Eagle Lake. He loved his family, friends, and farming, but he would say that his greatest joy was his four granddaughters whom he loved dearly. He said often through his treatments that they were his reason for getting up in the morning. He has been described as a generous man who gave more than he received and will be greatly missed.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Kendra Walsh, son: Dustin (and Bobbi) Walsh of DeGraff; granddaughters: Olivia, Adelyn, Ella and Emerson; siblings: Tom (and Lisa) Walsh of DeGraff, Mary Kay (and Mark) Frederickson of Spearfish, SD, and Louise Waterman of North Ferrisburg, VT; nieces and nephews: Jackson, Halle, and Mia Walsh, Nathan (and Jayna) Frederickson, Sarah (and Shawn) Tatman; Ben (and Catie) Waterman, and Katie (and Nick) Lambert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Catherine Walsh, brother, James Walsh, granddaughter: Brooklyn Walsh and brother-in-law, Fran Waterman.
