Dorothy A. Broman, December 19, 1933 • October 8, 2022

Dorothy Ann Broman, 88, of Willmar, Minnesota died Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 17 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Dorothy Ann Broman was born December 19, 1933, to Ole and Louise (Rau) Samsal in Benson. She attended school in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1951. After high school, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone as an operator.
Dorothy was confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson and on October 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard Broman at the church. To this union two children were born: Nancy and Jeffrey. They moved to Willmar, during this time where Dorothy stayed at home with their children and enjoyed raising them. They became members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar where she was active in the serving committee and other various groups.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling to visit family. She often went to the Black Hills or to visit her sister in Arizona. After Richard’s passing in 1984, Dorothy would travel to the North Shore every fall to stay at her daughter’s cabin. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and family.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Nancy (David) Quam of Willmar, and Jeffrey Broman of Mankato; granddaughters: Kristin Quam, Andrea (Timothy) Hoehn, Anne (Jesse) Wolff, and Michelle (special friend, Steve) Quam; great-granddaughters: Ashley Quam and Amber Carlson; and brother-in-law, Wilbur Seale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents, and siblings: Donna Seale and Dennis Samsal.
