     Elizabeth Ann Overlander, 90, of Benson passed away on Friday evening, April 9, 2021 at Scandi Haven Village. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
 
     Elizabeth Ann Overlander, age 90 was born on September 26, 1930 on the family farm near Felton, Minnesota, the daughter of Sander and Olga (Klevgaard) Benthagen.  She was baptized on October 26, 1930 at the Jevnaker congregation where she was later confirmed.  She grew up on a farm near Felton, graduated as the valedictorian from Felton High School and then earned her degree in nursing at Glenwood Hills. 
     Elizabeth began her career as a registered nurse at the Willmar State Hospital and it was where she met the love of her life, Ronald Cecil Overlander. On August 26, 1950 they were married. This union was blessed with over 66 years of marriage. After marriage they lived in Ada, Minnesota briefly, while Ron recovered from Tuberculosis. They then moved to Pipestone for several years before making their home in Benson in 1963. 
     She was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, puzzles and quilting. Elizabeth was called from this life on Friday evening, April 9, at Scandi Haven Village in Benson. 
     She is survived by her five children: Cheryl (LeRoy) Brazil of Eugene Oregon, Terry (Becky) Overlander of Dawson, Pamela Dieter of Eugene, Oregon, Joel (Carla) Overlander of Pennock and Lori (Terry) Boyd of Portland, Oregon; 11 grandchildren: Laura, Justen, Miranda, Brandon, Michael, Jonathan, Megan, Krysta, Ryan, Wyatt and Joseph; 15 great-grandchildren: siblings, Marianne Robinson, and Robert (Jean) Benthagen and several other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Sander and Olga, her husband Ronald on February 11, 2016, brothers Omar and Wesley, and a granddaughter Mackenzie. Blessed be her memory.
