Eric Hess

Eric Hess, 34, of Benson, Minnesota died June 5, 2021 under hospice care at his home in Benson. Visitation was  held Sunday, June 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation continued Monday, June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.  

Eric Michael Hess was born November 25, 1986, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Michael John and Suzanne Janel (Holmgren) Hess. He was baptized at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Jan. 15, 1987, by the Rev. Lyle Rich and Rev. Don Hippe and he was confirmed there November 27, 2002 by the Rev. David Andert. He grew up in Benson, graduated from Benson Senior High School and attended Ridgewater College in Willmar.

September 29, 2018, Eric was united in marriage to Lisa Hippen by Pastor Zane Anderson at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. He worked at Custom Roto Mold, Lorenz Manufacturing, and was a self-employed mechanic working with Dave’s Auto, all in Benson. He enjoyed fixing cars and watching the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday with his family.  He also loved music and cooking very much and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was called from this life Saturday evening, June 5 at his home in Benson. He attained the age of 34 years, six months, and 11 days.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Hess of Benson; his mother Sue Hess of Benson: a son, Jeremiah Hess of Benson: a brother Benjamin (Trista Nelson) Hess of Benson; his grandmother Carole Holmgren of Benson: his nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and several other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Michael Hess in 2015: his grandfather Loren Holmgren: and grandparents Fritz and Allouise Hess: and his aunt Dee Dee Hess.  Blessed be his memory.
