Evelyn Jean Denzer, died Monday evening, March 21, 2022, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2022, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.     
Evelyn Jean Denzer was born September 23, 1933, in Clontarf, Minnesota, the daughter of Sam Brime and Caroline Johanna (Sorenson) Bailey. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Benson, Minnesota and confirmed at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church January 23, 1955.  She grew up in Clontarf and Benson and attended country school until the 8th grade. 
October 2, 1954, Evelyn was united in marriage to David “Rusty” LeRoy Denzer at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. She embraced her role as a full-time mother and also worked as a daycare provider and working as motel cleaning staff.
Evelyn was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson where she was part of the women’s guild, shared her time volunteering and assisting the other residents, who all became her friends, of Minnewaska Lutheran Home for the last eight and a half years. She enjoyed helping others sewing quilts, trips to the casino, and playing BINGO. She loved caring for children, and she had a loving bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was called from this life Monday evening, March 21, 2022, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. She attained the age of 88 years, five months, and 28 days.
She is survived by her children: Jean (Alan) Schliemann of Benson, Pamela Denzer of Minnetonka, Rick (Sherry) Denzer of Benson, David (Lisa) Denzer of Hancock, and Scott (AnnMarie) Denzer of DeGraff; 14 grandchildren: Cassey Hoeschen, Travis Schlieman, Tamara (Corey) Moe, Nicole (Garrett) Hoffman, Jon (Erin) Denzer, Christina (Frank) Hanson, Alexander Denzer, Benjamin Denzer, and Ashley (Nick) Sanderson; 14 great grandchildren:  Zach Moe, Dylan Moe, Alyssa Moe, Ava Hoffman, McKenna Hoffman, Remmi Jensen, Nathan Fladung, Mya Denzer, Noah Denzer, Keyanna Niesen, Madison Hanson, Jayce Hanson, Frank Hanson, and Emma Hanson; and several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. 
She is preceded in death by her husband David “Rusty” Denzer, her parents: Caroline and Sam Bailey; her siblings: Elizabeth, Frieda, Allie, Marie, Raymond, Brime, Sam, Caroline, Baby boy, James, Delores, and all their spouses and her father in-law and mother-in-law: Wilma and Kenneth Denzer.
