November 13 (Thursday) Brown Bag Conversation – 12:00pm
Veteran’s Day
Remembered

Every year we celebrate Veteran’s Day on November 11 (never a movable holiday), but what do we really know about this day and why it is on our calendar. We will look at the history of Veteran’s Day and try to understand why it should be important to each of us.

Our special guest speaker for the day will be Preston Flolo, the Assistant Swift County Veteran’s Service Officer, dedicated to supporting local veterans and their families with the benefits and resources they've earned.  A Benson High School graduate, Preston enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2007 and served until 2011, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2010. During his service, he was awarded multiple commendations, including the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, among others.
Preston lives in Swift County with his wife and their two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, and their loyal dog.
