LouElla Marie Brown, 81, of Danvers, Minnesota, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her home in Danvers. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at the church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
LouElla Marie Brown was born May 17, 1943, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Lowell and Louise (Tuttle) Buroker. She was raised in Benson and attended Benson High School. This past September, she was able to attend the Class of 1961 reunion with some of her classmates. LouElla met the love of her life there, LouElla and Dwight Brown were married September 24, 1960, at Pilgrim Congregation United Church of Christ in Benson. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this September.
After raising their children, LouElla worked outside of the home at the Benson nursing home and Lorenz Manufacturing for many years. She also worked part-time at the Flower Basket.
After retirement, LouElla and Dwight wintered in Texas for many years. They then bought a house in Arizona where they lived for five wonderful years. That’s when they decided it was time to come home and found the perfect place in Danvers, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
LouElla loved being a grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed spending her summers at the lake, at Green Valley campground on Lake Pelican. Many great friends and memories were made there. In her early years, LouElla enjoyed bowling and throwing darts.
LouElla was peacefully called from this life Tuesday, May 6, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Danvers, Minnesota.
LouElla is survived by her husband Dwight Brown of Danvers, MN; children: Daniel (Teresa) Brown of Shreveport, LA, Lori (Larry) Thompson of Benson, MN, and Wendi (Dennis) Razink of Clontarf, MN; six grandchildren: Lisa (Jesse) Kent, Sara (Jon) Reich, Scott (Kim) Thompson, Ryan (Brittany) Thompson, Keith Razink, and Kevin Razink; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Larry (Loucretia) Buroker of Coon Rapids, MN, Lola (Gary) Lane of Apache Junction, AZ, and Jim VanderWeyst of Appleton, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law Connie (Jerry) Opoien of Benson, MN, and Howdice (Gloria) Brown of Wasilla, AK. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowell and Louise Buroker, brother Tony VanderWeyst, and parents-in-law George and Ann Brown.
