Margaret Helen (Rode) Robertson, 95, of Benson, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church  Saturday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow the Memorial Service. 
She was born Margaretha Helena Rode, August 3, 1926, on a small farm near Pierce, Nebraska. She was the seventh of seven children born to Adolf & Louisa Rode...and the first to be born in the USA.
She was baptized (August 29, 1926) and confirmed (May 19, 1940) at St. John's Lutheran Church near Pierce, Nebraska by Rev. H.A. Hilpert.
She gave birth to her son, Dion, February 8, 1947...his father being Roy John Wragge of Pierce.
She eloped to Sioux City, Iowa with SSG Ovlee Robertson (US Army) during the Great Blizzard of '49 and was married March 18, 1949.
This union (lasting 51 years) was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Diann, April 19, 1950.
She lived a full life and though she worked outside of the home for a half century (retiring at age 70 from her last job as a cook at the Swift County-Benson Hospital), she most enjoyed her role as a homemaker & Grandma to three generations of grand-kids.
Her favorite pastime was flower gardening and she was happiest when surrounded by her brood...especially at the family gatherings on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
She was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Benson into her mid-80’s.
She is survived by her son, Dion D. Rode of Benson, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and five great-great­ grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, her husband, Ovlee, her daughter, Diann (Robertson) Solomon, her son-in-law, Jack Solomon, two grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Andrea (Wartnick) Rode.
