Meal program still needs funding help

As the Prairie Five Meals budget for home-delivered meals shrinks and the day when not everyone who needs one will be provided one draws closer, the five-county region continues to consider additional funding.
Swift County has committed to additional funding if Chippewa, Big Stone, Lac qui Parle, and Yellow Medicine counties will also step up to help. 
At the Swift County Board of Commissioners meeting Sept. 1, Pete Peterson, District 3-south Benson and Torning Township, said Prairie Five is still waiting to hear from all counties involved. Peterson serves as the county’s liaison to the Prairie Five board.
