Orlen L. Pangrac July 28, 1931 • January 24, 2022

Orlen L. Pangrac, 90, of Benson, Minnesota died Monday morning, January 24, 2022 at Scandi Haven Village in Benson. Visitation was held Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Interment was  in the Benson City Cemetery.
Orlen LeRoy Pangrec was born July 28, 1931, the son of John and Frances Ukasick in Cudahy, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He grew up in Cudahy, Wisconsin and in Lakefield and Jackson, Minnesota. He graduated from Lakefield High School and then attended Vets Ag school in Morris, Minnesota. He served our country by joining the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean war. He served in the National Guard until 1976.
December 28, 1954, Orlen was united in marriage to LaVonne Grace Foster by the Rev. K. S. Mickelson in New Rockford, North Dakota. This union was blessed with over 67 years of marriage. They lived in Benson, Mesa, Arizona, Apache Junction, Arizona, Stansfield, Arizona before moving back to Benson. He worked in construction at various sites all across the United States and owned and operated his own trucking business.
Orlen was a member of the VFW, the Shamrock Hest Riding Club, and a member of the 49er’s union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, riding horses and singing Karaoke. He also enjoyed driving truck and flying airplanes.  He owned a stock car and loved competing in races and watching the races. He was called from this life Monday morning, January 24 at Scandi Haven Village in Benson.
He is survived by his wife LaVonne of Benson, his children: James (Guadalupe) Pangrac of Tucson, Arizona, Allen Pangrac and his special friend Mary Ann of Ely, Gene (Lori) Pangrac of Benson and Valerie Crane and her special friend John of Apache Junction, Arizona; grandchildren:  Erin Stennis, Corey Pangrac, Justine Pangrac, Joseph Pangrac, Samantha Pangrac, Keagan Pangrac, Kailyne Nelson, Travis Crane, and Brenton Crane; six great grandchildren; a sister LuAnne Peterson of Montevideo; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances, daughter-in-law Penny, a sister Arlene (Hjalmer) Hanson, and a brother-in-law Ronald Peterson. Blessed be his memory.
