Richard Lee Teske, 71, of Benson, Minnesota died at his home in Benson on Sunday evening, July 4, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, July 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 10, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Benson City Cemetery.

Richard Lee Teske was born on December 15, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Willard Rudolph and Ruth Eve (Block) Teske. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. He grew up in Appleton, Minnesota, attended school there and also attended Canby Vo-Tech. Richard served his country by enlisting in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was wounded.  He was in the National Guard for over 30 years.

On July 31, 1971 Richard was united in marriage to Verna Diane Nelson at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, Minnesota, by Pastor O. L. Levorson. This union was blessed with over 49 years of marriage. He worked for Ronnie Flaten, Mattheisen Disposal, Simmond’s Produce, Munson Seed, Midwest Cylinder, and Jennie-O Turkey farm. He was proud of his military service and a member of the Benson VFW Post 1403.

Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching TV, and car racing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was called from this life on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his home in Benson. He attained the age of 71 years, six months, and 20 days.

He is survived by his wife Verna Teske of Benson: his son Dennis Teske of Benson: his brother Thomas (Judy) Teske, of Blaine, his nephew Ben Teske, his niece Jennifer Teske: and all his friends, an uncle, aunts, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ruth Teske.
