Rosella Wilhelmine Hooth was born  July 20, 1917, to Thomas M. and Elsie W. (Hoffmann) Rohlfs in Roberts County, South Dakota.  She grew up on a farm in rural Corona, South Dakota.  Rosella was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona  November 13, 1932.  She completed eight years of education.
Rosella and Allan Hooth were united in marriage  December 8, 1939, by Rev. F. W. Hudsher in Trinity Lutheran Church.  To this union three children were born.  Rosella and Allan made their first home four miles southeast of Corona and in 1947 purchased a farm three miles west of Corona.   November 4, 1997, they moved to Milbank.  Allan died in 2001.  In May of 2009, Rosella became a resident of Northridge Residence in Ortonville, Minnesota.
Rosella was a devoted wife and mother.  She was an active participant on the farm where a variety of animals were raised and crops planted and harvested.  Her son, Dale, was born with Muscular Dystrophy and she cared for him throughout his life.  Rosella was faithful to her church and was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid.  She had many hobbies: gardening, both vegetables and flowers, reading, cheering on the Twins baseball team, playing parlor games, and fishing (she was especially competitive at that!).  Rosella was a wonderful cook and baker and her sugar and molasses cookies were the favorites of many.  After their move to Milbank, Rosella and Allan enjoyed morning coffee at Hardees where they made many new friends.  Quiet in demeanor, Rosella was a gifted listener.
