Benson/KMS go 2-1 at LPGE quadrangular

The Benson/KMS girls tennis team joined Parkers Prairie, Osakis and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at the LPGE quadrangular Aug. 20. The girls finished the day 2-1 with a 4-3 win over Parkers Prairie, a 6-1 win over LPGE and lost 6-1 to Osakis.

To open up the quadrangular, Benson/KMS took on the Parkers Prairie Panthers. In a tight contest, Benson/KMS just snuck by the Panthers to secure a 4-3 win.
Benson/KMS dominated the doubles play, winning all three matches. The one doubles team of Molly Jones and Annabelle DeTow pulled off a three-set win over Cailin Jensen and Izzy Langager 6-3, 2-6, 10-6. Avery Davis and Keala Carroll were the two doubles team for Benson/KMS and they took down Abigail Koep and McKayla Vogt in two sets 6-4, 6-2. The three doubles team of Hazel Habben and Kelsey Kalkbrenner earned a two-set win over Lillian Woodbridge and McKinnely Bosl 6-1, 6-1.
In singles, Benson/KMS dropped three of the four matchups. Emily McGinty was the only player to earn a win for Benson/KMS by pulling off a 7-5, 6-2 win over Hattie Traux at four singles. Elle Kletscher fell at one singles in three sets to Brooke Schilling 0-6, 6-4, 10-7. Ava Oakes fell at two singles 6-0, 6-4 against Anna Helling. Tara Beyer played three singles for Benson/KMS and she lost to Sophie Pfeffer 6-2, 6-3.
