Drought conditions spreading in late August
Drought conditions are spreading and deepening in Minnesota, though it is hard to tell it from how green the corn and soybean fields in area fields look.
In Swift County, the eastern half is drought free, making it one of the few areas of the state that is not suffering from drought conditions. However, western Swift County is rated as abnormally dry by the Aug. 18 U.S. Drought Monitor report. The far western townships of the county are entering the moderate drought stage.
