KMS girls basketball drops first game of 2024-25 season

KMS reached the 20-win mark last week, but also dropped their first game of the season, snapping a 20-game win streak. The Saints added a big 62-29 win over Lac qui Parle Valley on the road Jan. 27. The following day KMS earned their 20th win with a 91-47 win over the Blackjacks. The week wrapped up with a road game against MACCRAY Jan. 31 and KMS suffered their first loss of the season 65-53 to the Wolverines.

The Saints added another Camden Conference win to their undefeated record when they started the week off with a road game against Lac qui Parle Valley. KMS jumped out to a big lead after the first half and continued to stretch the gap until they earned a 33-point win over the Eagles.
KMS had control of the game for all 36 minutes of action. In the first half, the Saints held LqPV to just 11 total points and entered the locker room with a big 20-point advantage.
The Eagles were never able to mount a substantial comeback and KMS continued to widen the gap until they secured the 62-29 win over LqPV.
Acelynn Hacker led the team with 23 points and added four steals and two assists. Emily Wagner finished with 11 points and five steals. Leah Wagner added nine points. Madison Silas had eight points for KMS. Maddie Luft chipped in with six points, four steals, two assists and led the team with 13 rebounds and three blocks. Emily Zurn scored three points and Mamie Luft had two points to round out the scoring for the Saints.

KMS moved to 21-0 with another conference win when they hosted Dawson-Boyd in Kerkhoven. The Saints exploded in the first half for 61 points and rode a huge lead to a 44-point victory.
