Benson gets into the win column with win over ABE

After losses to two top teams in the state in the first two weeks, the Benson Braves football team was finally able get into the win column when they went on the road Sept. 18 and dominated Ashby/Brandon-Evansville 30-14 to move to 1-2 on the season.
Benson started off the game with the only score in the first quarter off a three-yard rushing TD from Andrew Nissen to take an 8-0 advantage. The Bolts came back in the second quarter with a 42-yard passing touchdown to make it 8-6. Andrew Nissen took the ensuing kickoff back to the three-yard line and Adrian Young punched the ball into the endzone to make the score 14-6 at the halftime break.
