City agrees to Quadrogen real estate option

Benson’s City Council approved signing a real estate purchase agreement for 62.44 acres of the former Fibrominn power plant site west of the city at its meeting Sept. 14.
Quadrogen will pay the city $15,000 for the purchase option, which would expire Sept. 15, 2027, if not “exercised or extended.” The option can be extended for a second year by paying an additional $10,000.
Quadrogen Renewables Inc. of Burnaby, British Columbia, has been pursuing an “advanced feasibility and due diligence” study of the former Fibrominn site “for development of a new anaerobic digestion facility.”
